Entry #34: Yellow Kissed Daffodils, Women's Rights Now (WTF!) and Here's to the Bliss!

Dear All:
Spring is determined to blossom. We've still had very little rainfall and the unusually moderate temperatures are giving us the feeling that it is late April. As the yellow kissed daffodils smile at us to begin the journey of our days, the White throated Sparrow's pretty wavering whistle, the very hearty chirp of the large breasted Robin and the angelic calls of the female Cardinals, continue to humble me.

  1. The yellow kissed daffodils smile to us as the journey of the day begins, (3/24/12).
  2. As the chanting of the bird's songs grow louder this morning, it can only mean that sunshine is on its way!
While observing the trees surprised look of spring's early arrival, and waiting for the sun each day, women everywhere are very concerned of the current GOP's discussions involving everyone else, but themselves.

Move On.org recently published a top 10 list of Women's Rights being adjusted by the GOP and not to our advantage. 1) They want to reduce women's access to abortion care. After a major backlash, they promised to stop, but haven't yet. 2) A Georgia legislator wants to change the legal term for victims of stalking to "accuser". 3) A South Dakota rep proposed a bill to make it legal to murder a doctor who performs an abortion. 4) They want to cut nearly a billion $ of food and aid to low income pregnancy, mothers, babies and kids. 5) In Congress, they have a bill that would let (certain) hospitals allow a women to die rather than perform an abortion. 6) Maryland reps ended all county money for low-income kids preschool programs, (women should be at home with the kids not out working.) 7) At the Federal level of this issue, they want to cut the program Head Start by 1 billion 8) Elderly women's funding is being cut 9) Congress just voted for Repub amendment to cut all federal funding from Planned Parenthood health centers and 10) There are plans to eliminate all funds for the only federal planning program. The social network initiative is powerful everyone, look how it took down Egypt! Who is in charge of this planet ladies? Not the bullies! We have to use our right to vote and arrange things differently in Washington, DC, starting now! Congresswomen Nancy Pelosi, Senator Barbara Boxer, Secretary of State, Hilary Rodham Clinton, Elizabeth Warren and Angelina Jolie (the badass of all badasses), are you out there?

"As we cultivate our feminine energy, we can redefine the meaning of our strength."--OM Horoscope

With the sun light beaming and this month's magic, I look above for the strength to pursue my bliss no matter what happens. It is one thing to pursue bliss and another to obtain it, but how do I keep it humming? If I lose my self importance and stop attaching to everything and everybody (within reason ) and become realistic about my expectations on every level, then that nothing can go that wrong right? God is in the details, right? Here's to the Bliss!

Thank you all for reading in your busy days of early spring. By accepting this season's early arrival with happiness and putting the ladies in charge of our planet (seriously) we can keep the bliss humming, can't we?

Let's pray for the women, children and animals who need our fierce and determined protection at all times.

With Love and Sincerely,

Kristen

  1. We do need a voice...in addition to all you have listed there is a Georgia state representative, Terry England, who wants to force women to carry stillborn fetuses to term–just like cows and pigs do.In a bill which makes it illegal to obtain an abortion after 20 weeks(which is fine for him to take that stance and many people would even agree with that) however, he was pushing for that law to also apply to women who are carrying a stillborn fetus or one that is likely to die before it reaches term, making it illegal for women to have the dead fetus removed until their bodies do so naturally.
The deterioration of women's rights are loud and clear taking us back to the "dark ages".

  2. HI Patricia:

So we need to let these members of the GOP know that in a matter of minutes, they can be taken down with a strategic social network initiative, snap like that.

There needs to be a RALLY in DC asap! Who is the best person to contact for this type of product/event? I am a good cold caller, so let me know and I will get them on the horn.
Forget the medieval times cause we are the NOW. I love you please help me be more informed and ways to actualize these ideas we all have.

    Love,
    KK

  4. This arrived from ELIZABETH WARREN - Running for Senate in MAss! Key Player on the Women's Rights Movement

    Dear Kristen,

Here's something I bet you didn't know: my first political contribution ever went to EMILY's List.

It was a long time ago, and I didn't have a slightest idea that I might ever run for office, but I believed then, as I do now, in the importance of electing more women to office. Today, EMILY's List has grown only stronger, thanks to the support of incredible members like you.

There's so much at stake in 2012, not just in my race in Massachusetts but all over America. We need to make our country work for middle class families again, not just for big banks and big corporations.

EMILY's List members will make the difference in key races. I guarantee it.

  5. Krissy: I have been signing petitions left and right (well, not RIGHT in the political sense...) and sending letters to women you listed above. We DO have a voice and the more we use it, the more these idiot goons out there will realize that they can't push us around. What the heck has happened to civil rights and the progress women have made over the past 100 years ...oh my! A lot of work to do to put these crazy right-wing idiots back in their antiquated cages or ship them off to a remote island somewhere where sharks will eat them alive.....

Thank goodness we can step away from it all at times to listen to the birds play their soothing symphonies and watch nature's display of rebirth and beauty...it's a nice diversion and gives us hope for better things to come....

  6. HI Liz:
Oh thank you so much for dropping in girl. I so appreciate it. It is medieval times at its best. Who put the bullies in charge? Its just like corporate america where the bullies are in charge, where is the grace?

I think we need an aggressive rally to push back now, rather than later. It is a shame that others on the planet believe that their importance is more superior than others. I am shaking my head right now.

And yes the birds and the sunshine remind us every moment of every day that we are in this world together.

    Love you lamb.

  7. Amen, Sisters! The assault on women goes hand in hand with the assault on the environment. It's a travesty but isn't it fascinating how social media helps us to fight back? Gotta love it.

Sorry I'm late... love starting the day with Get Over Yourself Please. I could use a daily dose. Birds & GOYP. An inspiring start to the day!

  8. Hi Susan

Oh darling I so appreciate you coming over to say hi girl friend.

Social media will be the weapon for all of us to take down the bad guys (look what it did for Egypt). It is sad that the people of the universe (whom are wonderful by the way) actually think that they have the right to judge and even implement these judgments on people other than themselves! How can you not love the ladies, I mean we are so nice and will do anything for anyone within reason. Don't these GOP guys have sisters, mothers, grandmothers, wives and mistresses that clean their homes, take care of them and provide such comfort? I mean really.

What's it all about Alfie? (Susan Sparks where are you girlie on that one, ha ha).

I love to see you here my darling Susan. You are the best. Have a great day in Pasadena!

    Love,
    Kris

  9. SOCIAL MEDIA'S SUCCESS STORY ON WOMEN"S RIGHTS! EMILY's LIST RAISES 6.9 MIL

    Friend,

We just finished our first quarter fundraising report, and we want to share our good news with you first.

Our campaign raised $6.9 million from January through March. That's more than double the amount raised by our opponent, incumbent Republican Senator Scott Brown.

Scott Brown still has $4 million more in the bank than we do, and there's a lot of work ahead to do to close the gap. But this proves we're building something special.

I want to share a few statistics that make me really proud:

Elizabeth outraised Scott Brown right here in Massachusetts.
More than 30,000 men and women from 350 cities and towns across Massachusetts have contributed to our campaign.
83% of our donations since January 1st have been $50 or less.
We're making enormous progress to build the grassroots team we need to win -- and we're doing it thanks to people like you.

As Elizabeth says, we need to work together if we are going to have a say in who we are and what kind of country we want to be. Watch this new video of Elizabeth, share it with your friends, and ask them to be a part of our historic campaign for middle class families:

    Thanks!
